"Buy Film, Not Megapixels"
I've seen this mantra floating around amongst people film photographers...and personally, I think its a little pretentious. I do understand what it means, and definitely agree that no amount of megapixels can match the "full frame sensor" that is film...however, it also makes people who use that slogan look ignorant to the benefits of digital photography. Being a lover of film, I definitely acknowledge that it is not the best medium for certain subjects. Digital's double-edged sword advantage of being able to take multiple shots without worrying how many exposures you have left lends itself well to fast moving objects and people with average to below average photo taking skills.
If it were up to me, I'd make everybody adopt the following quote into their mindset:
"It's not the photographer, it's the eye."
