Wonderspaces Pop-up Gallery

I was given an invite to check out Wonderspaces, a new pop-up gallery in San Diego.  The gallery itself features room-sized installations of immersive and interactive art.  The photos don't do it justice, as it is definitely an experience.

Even the vlog itself does not give the experience justice.  You are fully able to immerse yourself in the worlds created by these artists.  There are 3 Virtual Realty works where the artists masterfully craft a digital landscape for you to explore.  The "Blooms" spinning sculpture exhibit is best viewed with the human eyeball.  Many of the perspective-bending installations look 2D on camera, but play with your head in real life.

It is in San Diego from June 2 - July 30 2017....so check it out while you can!

SS Monte Carlo Gig

The SS Monte Carlo is a concrete oil rig turned gambling and prostitution ship in Coronado, CA.  It is one of the many splendid secrets residing in San Diego.

After every strong storm, the sediment in the ocean gets shifted around and unearths certain relics of the past.  After a recent storm, we decided to take advantage of this and make portraits on a sunken ship.  Enjoy!

Art Alive 2017

It has been decided that I will start writing more blogs that will cater to a larger audience.  I will continue to do things I usually do such as attend art events, explore "Hidden San Diego", live in the ocean, and dance.  This time around, I will be making it more accessible for people via blog articles and videos.

With that said, I was invited by the San Diego Museum of Art to check out their "Art Alive 2017" event.  Here they pair different floral arrangements with different art pieces.  The most gorgeous centerpiece to the exhibition was the tree that was created to display all 4 seasons.

Below are the photos I have taken of the exhibition.  You can view my walk through video by clicking on this link.

So I took over Balboa Park....

For the very first week, I was given the keys to Balboa Park's instagram account.  They gave me full creative control of what appears on their feed....so I decided to go with portraits of performance artists.  I had an incredible amount of fun working with their collective of organizations that make up Balboa Park.  It culminated in an "Instagram Live" Dance Cypher.  It was such a joy working with them.  Instead of getting into the nitty-gritty of that, here is a recap of the photos that were posted during January 1 - January 7.

and also....you cannot overlook this boomerang of Bboy Nico that garnered over 3k views during that week:
