I've gone through 3 weathermatic cameras. This is my fourth. Those cameras are supposed to be rugged, but I guess they can't always keep up with where I take them. One thing that never lets me down though, its the quality of images I am able to capture on this freakishly yellow piece of plastic.
I am suddenly submerged in the sea
the surface diffuses the light
a sturgeon swims above me
and eclipses the sun
all I see are, sea stars
And so I look to outerspace,
my destination: planet rock
She took the turntable needle
and then set it on my clock
spun the record counter clockwise
time rewinds, I find myself with her
in a different time
we were once friends
Scratches the 12 to the 3
juggling my memories
grandmaster flashbacks
flash back to the first date
or was it a date?
what IS a date?
time seems to no longer matter
as we are both dancing off beat.
today my hour glass broke
and the sands of time
poured itself onto the coastlines
because most times,
I find my time being washed away into the ocean
floating
submerged, in nouns and verbs
rhythms of words matched rhythms of oceans
stanzas and poems
breast strokes, front strokes, pen strokes
floats
today my hourglass broke
its not that i hate sunsets
but i just dont see
the need
to view them
through the LCD
on my iphone's screen
when somebody has already uploaded it
to my instagram feed
its been ages since i experienced a sunset
ages since i've done math in my head
ages since i've picked up a physical book
ages since i wrote a poem on a piece of paper
Dear Modern Technology,
I've decided to runaway
I'll re-write my retweets with the pencil
I use to rewind my cassettes
I've decided to re-learn cursive
mix words with music
mix music WITHOUT serrato
where every day is throwback thursday
and our favorite hashtag is tomorrow
The leaves change color
An endless cycle of death
Random palm tree laughs
