xanga is back up....now i can finally go back to my old official blog to see what i've done to get myself to this point in my life. whats interesting, is the final entry was about a year before i started this site. so there are alot of "lost" entries, that need to be written so i don't lose any recollection of what happened in between then. every memory is important to me, good and bad, it makes me who i am....here is a video from May 2010 when i was in a dance ensemble for SDSU's senior dance concert. skip to ~3:45 if you only feel like watching me in my psuedo-contemporary bboy glory:
Title: "The Essence of A Memory", By Julio Velazquez

here's a photo i took today on way to class...a gigantic spider. my iphone doesn't have good macro capabilities...but this was a beautiful spider. about a 1.5" diameter body [not including the legs and head] with a very interesting design on its thorax. it makes me wanna dedicate an entire month just exploring local bushes and trees. because there are so many beautiful bugs that i am unaware of their existence in san diego. the thunder clouds and overall darkness of the photo add to the mood:
before i stopped writing, i had plans to put together a small mixtape of spoken word pieces entitled "Pacific Galaxy"...the pacific galaxy, if the ocean were in outerspace...which is where my mind tends to float...
one of the pieces i never released or performed...:
i'd link to my old art journal...but the site server is experiencing some problems. hopefully it gets fixed...because that place catalogues my eventual complete transcendence into a life of art. ...from when i was just goofing around with it...all the way up to now. everybody should keep some sort of journal, whether prvate or public...it allows you to see how much you've grown, where you can improve, and most importantly....to learn from your mistakes. as soon as i can get back into my old blog, i will post the link. sadly, the main reason i stopped posting there...is because it didn't have an iphone app...but then again...WHO USES XANGA ANYMORE ANYWAY? [its like what our grandparents used before myspace became unhip]
